About McHugh Hire

McHugh Hire is a 100% Canberra owned equipment hire business born as Canberra Spit Hire in January 2007.

In January 2013, Canberra Spit Hire was expanded to be called Canberra Spits & Party Hire to accommodate a diverse array of event-based equipment we became known for hiring. CSPH rapidly became Canberra and Queanbeyan's first call for hire providing equipment and services for events with thousands of people.

Fast forward to 2018 and we had again expanded our inventory, this time to include more electrical, tools, machinery, trailers and services. So a more broad business name was required to reflect the vast range of equipment and family nature of our business, so McHugh Hire was chosen.

McHugh Hire is more than just an equipment company. We strive to make sure every customer is confident they have everything they need, and we work hard to guarantee every McHugh Hire customer is raving about our service afterward.

McHugh Hire is equally at home providing equipment for special events, home renovations, corporate and government installations, emergency breakdown tools and just about any equipment you might need.

McHugh Hire is proudly owned by Jordan 'Jordo' McHugh. Jordo has nearly 20 years experience in planning large events, managing trade equipment, and logistics.

In the early 2000's he worked his way up the ranks of the Australian Hotels Association (Australia's peak hospitality industry body) to eventually become ACT Branch General Manager. Jordo is also a qualified master butcher, owning and running his own butcher shop for 8 years in Wanniassa ACT. Jordo is also skilled in construction, metalworking, plumbing, IT, electrical and has been used as an ambassador for cybersecurity campaigns.

McHugh Hire is very fortunate to have loyal staff who are skilled in technical and mechanical fields, design, planning, management, decoration and customer service.
